Wed., August 11 - Students need to complete their "Goal Sheet" listing at least 3 goals they would like to achieve during this school year, how they will acheive them, and who will help them achieve the goals. Due tomorrow.

Thurs., August 12 - Students will make a list of at least ten (10) each of the following and label them: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, and pronouns. Due tomorrow.
Fri., August 13 - no HW
Wed., August 18- Every week, students will be given 20 spelling sight words. They will need to be able to spell the word correctly and use the word correctly in a complete sentence. This week's spelling assessment will be on Tuesday, August 24 covering short vowel sounds. The list of 20 words are: stuck, grasp, bunk, mist, slept, bunch, staff, dwell, fond, dock, bulb, ditch, fund, swift, split, crush, swept, deaf, shove, and tough. Today, students were given a small packet to practice spelling and comprehending this week's words.
Fri., August 20 - This week, students have been completing a reading preassessment to help me gauge where they fall in their reading level so that I may better serve their individual needs. We have also been identifying author's purpose in our Bridges to Literature textbook stories.
Organization!!! We have been working diligently to keep our work organized in our Reading Binders. The binders are divided into sections to help the kids know where to put our work as we read stories and as we complete assignments.
